My work is a subjective investigation of human emotion and psychology, primarily focusing on the rawest and most genuine form of interpretation. Visually, I am influenced by contemporary abstract painters ranging from Cecily Brown to Twombly to Basquiat; drawing inspiration from different fragments of each of their methods and processes and manipulating them into my own. Modern literature also plays an enormous influence on my work and my writing.

My process begins in the notebook, often by jotting down a few lines that come to my mind or writing down a single word that has been in my head all day. From there comes the rest of the work, which can be anywhere from a few lines to multiple pages to an elaborate drawing. I take a few of the lines, a word, or the entire finished piece and translate that work into painting or a mixed media piece (manipulated found photos, painting, embroidery, etc.). My ideas and views are constantly changing and I see my work as a timeline of my own progress as a human being.
